AKG has just unveiled its latest offering of its new over-the-ear headphones, the AKG K551. Designed with both audiophiles and casual listeners in mind, the K551 features large, enveloping ear cups designed for utmost comfort during extended wears while also minimizing passive noise. Large, 50mm drivers coupled with Real Image Engineering technology create an accurate, three-dimensional sound environment. Not content with just producing amazing sound, the designers ensured that the headphones also stayed portable with a fold-flat design that takes the hassle out of packing the headphones in a backpack or briefcase. The K551′s include the now obligatory cord with in-line mic for hands-free iPhone use as well as a 1/4 inch adapter for use with home audio systems and comes in both silver and white colorways. The headphones are now available at Harman’s for $330 USD.
