Skrillex and his upcoming “monster” live show
May 10th, 2011 ⋅ News ⋅ by Ryan ⋅ 899 ViewsWith Skrillex on the rise and an ever-mounting schedule of festival dates over the coming Northern summer, Skrillex has been working on a new platform for his full-throttle sets. Sonny has revealed how he’s building a stage show to rival Deadmau5’s Rubik’s Cube. His plan is to go “all motion-capture” on his fans.
“I’m using motion-capture,” he revealed. “You know in movies when they use CG, they actually have people wearing infra-red sensors. So however I move I’m going to have giant 3D projections, like image-mapping. Monsters, skeletons and robots moving how I move. So that’s what’s in development right now, which should be very cool.”
As anyone who witnessed Skrillex in action around the country last month will tell you, those 3D projections might have a hard time keeping up with him. If you haven’t seen the ‘Skrillcam’ video from Creamfields in Sydney yet, watch it below.
